Nicole Deannae Alexander, or Hoopz due to her love of basketball, was born on July 12, 1983 in Detroit, Michigan, but she grew up on Romulus with her five younger sisters. She was a star basketball player in Woodhaven High School in Brownstone, also in Michigan, where she graduated. Before becoming a professional model and television personality, she worked with uncle for a demolition business.
In 2006, Hoopz was cast as one of the contestants and became the eventually winner of the VH1 reality show Flavor of Love season 1. The show pitted 20 ladies for rapper Flavor Flav’s love as they live together in a California mansion for almost two months. Hoopz was chosen by Flav over Tiffany Pollard, also known as New York, who was eventually given her own reality show. In the reunion special, however, barely a month after the airing of the finale, Hoopz revealed that she and Flav were no longer together.
After the show, Hoopz continued to pursue a career in modeling, having appeared in several sexy calendars and magazines. In fact, she is signed up to three different modeling agencies, which includes EyeCandy Modeling. She has appeared in a couple of music videos, namely Will Smith’s «Party Starter» and Lil’ Keke’s «Chunk Up The Deuce." She is also the celebrity supporter of the East Kentucky Miners, a basketball team based in Pikeville, Kentucky. She is reportedly set to star in her own DVD series plus two movies in 2008.
Hoopz also became one of the 25 contestants in the VH1 reality show I Love Money, which features returning contestants past VH1 reality shows such as Flavor of Love, I Love New York, and Rock of Love with Bret Michaels. The 25 competed in physical and mental challenges en route to a grand prize of $250,000. She emerged as the winner of the first season.
